PARODY CONTEST


The Parody Contest is officially on !

Thank you everyone who's offered to help judge, you guys have been just great but right now we have our judges plus a couple of extras. Thanks again though !

What I am still looking for is possibly some more people to donate prizes. Anything will be cheerfully & gratefully accepted ! Please let me know if you can do anything, thank you in advance.

"Parody" is defined in part by Wikipedia.org as " In contemporary usage, a parody (or lampoon) is a work that imitates another work in order to ridicule, ironically comment on, or poke some affectionate fun at the work itself, the subject of the work, the author or fictional voice of the parody, or another subject. For example, my gag journal, A Frog Story, was an entire joke leading up to the last paragraph, which was a parody of the last couple of lines from the children's song, This Old Man.

This old man, he played one
He played knick-knack on my thumb
With a knick-knack paddywhack, give the dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

And we have ..........

It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan, His old man's a Rolling Stone." [link]

RULES

1.) You may enter written & visual images both. Cartoons, manips, song parodys etc. If you can do a fractal parody, then by all means go for the gold !

2.) Please put in your title just exactly what your entry is a parody of. For the clueless ( me). Something like .... 50 Ways To Clean Your Gutters ( 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, Paul Simon ). If we don't have a frame of reference it makes it hard to judge. If due to dA space limitations, it won't fit in the title, please put it in the description, preferably somewhere by the top. Thanks !

3.) There will be NO excessive profanity for profanity's sake. We're all intelligent enough to get our point across otherwise I like to think.

4.) There will be NO excessive violence depicted. This contest is about fun & if you have anger issues, take them somewhere else. I don't want to know about it.

5.) You may enter twice. I had originally said only once ( sorry Jenn ) but I've reconsidered.

6.) Please do not parody War and Peace. Or Gone With The Wind. I'm not suggesting you parody a Henny Youngman one-liner, I'm just asking you to use your best judgement.

7.) Please no nudity.

8.) Please either send me a note with the link to your entry or you can put the link in this journal.
